Kerry Month of Enterprise (KMOE) is a month long celebration of Enterprise activities that take place around County Kerry throughout the year. A series of events organised throughout the month gives established businesses and budding entrepreneurs an opportunity to network and discover the assistance available to them in growing and sustaining a business in Kerry.
In 2019, over 50 enterprise events were hosted as part of KMOE. This included events covering a broad range of topics such as Succession Planning, Digital Strategy, Business Leader networking, Social Enterprise, Getting Ready for Brexit, how to tender for more work and close more sales.
The month is a collaborative initiative between Kerry County Council, Kerry Local Enterprise Office, Enterprise Ireland, IT Tralee (Centre for Entrepreneurship Enterprise Development – CEED), North, East & West Kerry Development (NEWKD); South Kerry Partnership Development (SKDP), IRD Duhallow, IDA Ireland, Udarás na Gaeltachta.
The Kerry Month of Enterprise is also supported by media partners The Kerryseye, The Kerryman and Radio Kerry.
A spotlight on entrepreneurial activities
Starting a business can be daunting but the many supports available throughout the county are there to help and advise through the process. Inter-agency cooperation and coordination is strong in Kerry, creating a focused enterprise development strategy dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs. Through these collaborative organisations, u and coming entrepreneurs can avail of mentoring, workshops networking, prototyping, market research and funding supports.
